Article summary

Return Material Authorization (RMA)

RMA is a formal process used by businesses to manage and control the return of products or materials from customers, suppliers, or distributors. It serves as a systematic way to track, evaluate, and resolve issues related to returned goods.

  1. RMA section will be having both Claims & Returns options in the dealer portal.

  2. The Partial/Fully Shipped Orders Can be Retuned or Claimed and Only those Items which are Shipped Can be Returned or Claimed.

  3. An Item can either be claimed or returned. If ordered in multiple QTYs, then it can be divided but the same item can’t be selected for both Returns and Claims.

  4. Multiple claims / returns can be created for one order but not for the same product.

  5. Image Upload at Item Level will be Mandatory for claims creation.

  6. We will add one Attribute at RMA Level "RMA Type" - Return or Claim and they will be considered as Two Separate Entities.

  7. We will have an option in backend where admin can configure “Time” to decide that Return and Claim can be generated after x number of days of Shipment. We must Maintain Separate Configurations for the same.

  8. Returns and Claims will have a 4 Step Life Cycle. We will allow Reason Management for Returns and Claims separately.

  9. We will send email Communication to Customers when there are any changes in RMA post creation.

    1. Returns

      1. Only Unassembled Items Can be Returned.

      2. We can have a Product level Attribute that Decides if an Item Can be Returned or not and if that Same Item is Ordered Assembled, it cannot be Returned.

    2. Claims

      1. Any Item Can be Claimed.

      2. Image Upload at Item Level will be Mandatory for Claims Creation
